Jennie

Confidential Survivor Advocate
she/her

Jennie comes to the CAPE team as an alumni of the OSU community, having completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at OSU in Public Health. Wanting to keep supporting this community, Jennie now works as a confidential advocate as a part of CAPE’s survivor advocacy services. She has training in survivor-centered advocacy, danger assessment, first-aid/CPR response and address confidentiality. Jennie works with the belief that survivors should always be in charge of their decisions and their healing journey. You may also see Jennie around campus providing educational workshops and presentations on survivor advocacy. She has a passion for educating others, providing the tools necessary to be an ally and informing folx of their community resources. Jennie believes that all interpersonal violence stems from levels of oppression and it is important to recognize the imbalances for survivors of marginalized communities. Part of her outreach work includes connecting with members of different communities who experience higher rates of violence. When she isn’t at work, you will find Jennie at the gym, napping with her cats or watching crime documentaries. Please feel free to reach out to Jennie for an appointment or with any questions! Email Jennie.

Elizabeth

Co-Director of Center for Advocacy, Prevention & Education (CAPE)
Director of Gender-Based Violence Prevention
she/her

Elizabeth serves OSU as the inaugural director of gender-based violence prevention and co-director of CAPE. Elizabeth firmly believes that prevention is possible when it is rooted in community engagement, situated in the larger context of liberatory praxis, and centers the lived experiences of marginalized survivors. She loves helping the OSU community see how it can cultivate a culture of consent and prevent gender-based violence. When she’s not at work Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her three dogs Joaquin, River and Pumpkin (you can visit Pumpkin at the Pride Center where she volunteers once a week). Elizabeth is an avid coffee drinker and enjoys watching soccer. When she is cuddled on the sofa with the dogs, sipping a cup of coffee and watching soccer, she is in her happy place. Mylea

Sexual Health Outreach Assistant
she/her

During her time at OSU, Mylea has volunteered with the Wellness Agents and SHS’s Sexual Health Team. During her time volunteering, she facilitated events like Game of Your Life and Boldly Me. This led her to work on the Craft Center Collab Team, which allowed her to connect her passion for wellness with her love of the arts. In her free time, she walks around her neighborhood petting cats and naming native plants (much to the annoyance of her friends and family), and one day aspires to have one of her own. She also can be found cooking and baking a variety of foods, and sharing them with her loved ones. At CAPE, she works with the Prevention Team to promote programming on sexual wellness, consent and healthy relationships, as well as maintaining their safer sex outreach programs. Email Mylea.
